Syrian chemical weapons: Israeli false flag operation

On Thursday, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, the former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell during an interview with Current TV’s Cenk Uygur, claimed that the rumor that Syrian forces had used chemical weapons against western-sponsored rebels, could be a “Israeli false flag operation” because Zionist prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu was running an “inept regime.”

Wilkerson claimed that he had been told by his sources in the intelligence community that evidence that Syria had used chemical weapons was “really flaky” and that President Barack Obama should think twice before intervening.

“This could have been an Israeli false flag operation,” he said. “You’ve got basically a geo-strategically, geo-political – if you will — inept regime in Tel Aviv right now.”

Wilkerson pointed out that Washington’s stupid warmongering on behalf of Israel has turned Iran into a regional power. Iran’s ally in Lebanon, Hizbullah, is getting more and more powerful each day. Iraq under Nuri al-Maliki has become Tehran’s best Arab ally. Tehran carry a significant influence over Hamas and Islamic Jihad – while US and its regional allies have failed to bring an anti-Iran regime in Damascus. Hizbullah leader Sheik Hassan Nasrallah warned the anti-Assad powers that Hizbullah fighters are ready to defend Assad regime if needed.Hizbullah is the only Arab militia which defeated Jewish army in 2006.

So Israel is in a very, very dangerous situation right now. The president has got to be very circumspect about what he does in exacerbating that situation. Netanyahu is clueless as to this. I hope that President Obama gave him a lecture into geo-strategic realities,” said Wilkerson.

“I think we saw really startling evidence of that in the fact that President Obama had to tell Bibi Netanyahu, ‘Pick up the phone, you idiot and call Ankara [Turkey] and get yourself out of this strategic isolation you’re in right now,’” Wilkerson said, referring to the situation in March of this year .
