Saudia: ‘Women rights and western bigots’

Last week, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia announced to allow women to vote and run in the future election by 2015. The King’s statement became Western media’s second top hot item after Israeli fear of Mahmoud Abbas’ bid at the UN Security Council for Palestinian statehood.

The leaders of the western Zionist Occupied Governments (ZOGs) in the US, Britain, France and Germany were the first ones to praise the King’s decision. The US and France which has never elected a woman as country’s President, hailed it as “a landmark decision, which is part of a reform effort that meets the expectations of Saudi society and youth“.

May be these western bigots don’t know that King Abdullah had appointed Nora bint Abdullah al-Fayez, a US-educated former teacher, deputy education minister in charge of a new department for female students in 2009.

The most vilified regime in the Muslim world by the Zionist thugs – Ahmadinejad government, has three female cabinet ministers plus a female Vice-president – an achievement the American women can only dream.

However, behind all this enthusiasm – Islamophobes don’t forget to remind their brainwashed audience that women in Saudi Arabia still cannot drive – ignoring the fact that Orthodox Jewish women in New York also cannot drive or share sidewalk with men.

In 2009, Professor John Esposito had admitted that majority of Saudi wives are much better off than their counterparts in the West (an certainly in Israel where women are not allowed to own property under Orthodox Jewish law) – “Saudi women own 70% of savings in Saudi banks and own 61% of private firms in Kingdom, they own much of the real estate in Riyadh and Jeddah and can own and manage their own business, but they’re sexually segregated…”

Actually Orthodox Jewish women can drive in New York. The government doesn’t stop them. They have a choice in this country and they chose to have that life. If their husbands or community create problems for them they can have them arrested or leave. There are a number of shelters in this country that help abused women. At least in this country if the Orthodox Jewish women decide I am not doing this anymore then thats it no more community. Again, if they want to live in a backwards, non-sense driven ideology so be it. Just don’t enforce it on others and keep it to yourself. The US government doesn’t force a theocracy on to people unless like Saudi and Iran.
